Tara has worked as a TV/Radio presenter and voice over artist for companies including ITV, BBC, & Capital Radio; as a producer with her own contents company she has created content for Channel 4 and Baby Cow. As a broadcaster and journalist she created a cult column for The Daily Mail and blog, Sex in the Country. Her screenplay Graffiti Boy <3 Guerrilla Girl picked up first place at The Moondance film festival and second place at The Reelheart Film Festival in Toronto.
Tara follows in the footsteps of her similarly multi-talented father, Anthony Newley and Dynastic mother, Joan Collins. She has voiced various animation projects from 'Fimbles' to 'Cubeez' as well as TV and radio commercials. Her documentary credits include 'I Own Britain's Best Home' (2 series), 'Viagra, Ten Years on the Rise,' 'Help, I have a High Maintenance Wife/Husband' and 'Ten Kids' for Channel 5, as well as 'Marco Pierre White's Great British Feast' for ITV.
For the last three years she has been the Poet in Residence at a Quaker school in North Somerset and was shortlisted for the Bridport Poetry Prize in 2020 and long-listed for the National Poetry Prize in 2018. Her first novel, Radio Honey, was shortlisted for the Novel London Literary Festival 2019. A feminist and activist she raises awareness and funds for women’s charities. She is currently working on her second novel, Sex and Death, about the sexuality of loneliness and the violence of life.
