Emma is an established actress and voice over artist and was one of Shining’s first clients. She is Cumbrian born and bred but her accent is a general ‘Northern’. She is one of the few actors who knows how to do an authentic Cumbrian accent! Her voice over experience includes jobs for United Utilities, Chambers Kitchens, BT, Toyota, Lea and Perrins, Sure, Max Factor and Fitness First.
She recently completed recording of the audio book The Lamb by Lucy Rose.
Emma has worked in theatre, television and radio for 25 years. Notable roles include Celia in Ruth Jones’ Stella for Sky One and Stella Moorhouse in the Brit Flick East is East. Emma has appeared as a regular in many series and had guest roles in Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Red Rose, Midsomer Murders, Doctors and many more. She recently finished filming her first low budget horror film The House of The Unseen, showing at Frightfest in 2025.
Radio plays include the lead role in Mary Barton, Margaret Forster’s Hidden Lives and Shadow Baby as well as Heft like a Herdwick and Butchers Perfume all for Radio 4. For Radio 3 Alice Nutter's, My Generation.
Emma has also turned her talents to writing and runs her own theatre company La’al Marra Productions (‘Little Friend’ in Cumbrian). She writes and produces her own plays and has won awards for her writing.
