Roger May on Spotlight

Roger May graduated from The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 1991 and, since then, has worked extensively in most areas of the industry. As a voice actor he has recorded over 100 radio plays and short stories for the BBC and is a regular on The Archers, playing James Bellamy.

He is an award-winning audiobook reader and frequent contributor in the world of computer games, most recently in Divinity: Original Sin II. He plays Mr.Bouncer in the cartoon Peter Rabbit and was in the BAFTA-winning Sarah and Duck. He also does a lot of corporate, ADR and educational voice work, both in English and in French (in which he is fluent, having been born and brought up in Belgium).

On stage, Roger has worked in many theatres in the country, including seasons with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Chichester, Southampton, Exeter and Harrogate. He played ‘Daddy’ (My Daddy) in The Railway Children at London Waterloo and most recently was in The Pitmen Painters at the New Vic. He has also twice toured the U.S with Shakespeare plays - also directing A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Wyoming.

On screen, Roger has appeared in, among others, The Hour, The Cazalet Chronicles and MI High. He was in the latest series of Victoria and his most recent episodes of Father Brown (playing Canon Fox) are being aired on the BBC either side of Christmas.
